LAKE WORTH BEACH, Fla. -- Caldwell baseball concluded its Spring Break Florida swing on Friday, with sophomore righthander Brandon Scalisi (New City, N.Y) striking out eight over five innings and senior right fielder Noah Putney (Glassboro, N.J.) collecting two more hits and an RBI in a 14-1 defeat to Bentley (14-5).

The Cougars tied the score at 1-1 in the third on Putney's single, plating junior DH Liam James (Roseland, N.J.). 

Senior righthander Elias Negron (Virginia Beach, Va.) pitched a scoreless ninth for the Cougars (1-6), who return North to face Queens at Kiwanis Oval in the home opener on Tuesday at 3 p.m.
