CALDWELL, N.J. -- Sophomore point guard
Neysa Aguilar (Middlesex, N.J.) led the Cougars with 13 points, as Women's Basketball (3-4, 0-1 CACC) fell in their conference home opener to the Felician Golden Falcons (5-5, 1-0) 67-54 at the Newman Center.
Graduate student guard/forward
Sophia DeMauro (New York, N.Y.) and sophomore point guard
Jah'Nel Lewis (Jersey City, N.J.) each scored 11 points. DeMauro made a season-best three 3-pointers.
Junior guard/forward
Lucy Coogan (Kilkenny, Ireland) scored in double figures for the seventh consecutive game to start the season, with 10 points and two triples made.
Caldwell's largest deficit was a 20 point advantage by Felician (46-26) at the 2:43 mark of the second quarter. The Cougars had cut the big lead to 7 (55-48) late in the third quarter.
Caldwell fought hard to stay in the game after trailing but the Golden Falcons were able to secure the victory in the fourth quarter.
CU will travel to Bloomfield to face the Bloomfield Bears in another CACC tilt on Saturday at 1 PM.
