INDIANAPOLIS -- Caldwell University is one of 44 NCAA Division II institutions nationwide to receive the Presidents' Award for Academic Excellence, the organization announced today. Caldwell achieved an Academic Success Rate (ASR) of 91% to attain the honor.
Three Caldwell sports (men's basketball, women's basketball, softball) recorded perfect 100% scores, while five others (women's lacrosse, 95%; volleyball, 94%; bowling, 93%, women's cross country/track, 91%; and baseball, 90%) checked in at 90% or above.
The Division II ASR tracks graduation of student-athletes within a six-year time frame. It includes transfers into a school in the calculation and removes those who transferred out of the school while academically eligible. The ASR also includes over 30,000 non-scholarship student-athletes in the division who were enrolled in the four years covered in the most recent data.
The ASR was developed at the request of presidents who believed the federal graduation rate was outdated. It includes transfers into a school into the calculation and removes those who transferred out of the school while academically eligible. The ASR also includes more than 30,000 non-scholarship student-athletes who were enrolled during the four years covered in the most recent data.
Five CACC schools received the honor, the third highest total for any D2 conference.
The Division II Presidents' Award for Academic Excellence is being given out for the 14th year.
