ORANGEBURG, N.Y. Â -- Â Caldwell women's basketball (2-2) fell in an exciting back and forth affair in the second half to the Southern New Hampshire Penmen (2-2) 76-73 in their second game of the 11th annual Regina Rivera Memorial Tournament at the Hennessy Center.
Star sophomore point guard
Jah'Nel Lewis (Jersey City, N.J.) had her best game of the season to date, scoring 26 points and draining five threes with five assists and four steals.
Junior guard/forward
Lucy Coogan (Kilkenny, Ireland) shot 50% from the field and scored 19 points with a season-high two threes made.
Graduate student guard/forward
Sophia DeMauro (New York, N.Y.) got in double figures for the first time this year, scoring 11 points.
There were four lead changes and two ties, all in the fourth quarter.
CU played tough defense yet again, forcing 20 turnovers from the Penmen.
Caldwell will return home to face Mercy University in the Play4Kay Event next Saturday afternoon at 3 PM.
