BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- Senior
Joey Datta (Edison, N.J.), competing against a strong field at the Paul Short Run, took a solid 15th place at the Paul Short Run presented by ASICS at Goodman Campus Cross Country Course at Lehigh University on Saturday afternoon.
The Cougars too, 26th in a field of 38 NCAA Division I and Division II squads. CU finished second among NCAA Division II East Region schools at the event.
Datta's 8K time of 25:10.2 placed him in the top 5% of the 313 finishers, including sixth among all Division II entrants and first of any East Region runner.
The Cougars also had fine scoring showings by senior
Alfredo Oidor (Garfield, N.J. (79th, 26:11.2), junior
Chad Manning (Belleville, N.J.) (205th, 27:47.0), sophomore
Logan Kudla (Bloomfield, N.J.) (251sst, 28:36.7) and sophomore
Alex Jamieson (Portree, Scotland) (277th, 29:19.5).
Caldwell next runs closer to home at the NJIT Highlanders Challenge in Newark, N.J. on Saturday, Oct. 12.
