CALDWELL, N.J. Â -- Â With the game tied at one, sophomore defender
Yigit Kilic (Istanbul, Türkiye) buried the game-winning goal in the 84th minute to send the rest of his Cougar teammates into an uproar, as Men's Soccer (5-3-3, 4-1-1) defeated their first place CACC rival Post Eagles (6-4-3, 4-1-2) 2-1 at Caldwell Athletics Field. It was Kilic's third goal of the campaign.Â
Sophomore forward
Theodore Hertzenberg (Lommedalen, Norway) got the scoring started in the 26th minute, as he ripped a laser through the back of the net for his third goal.Â
The freshman duo of midfielder
Haakon Rake (Lommedalen, Norway) and forward
Jeremy Klinger (Kearny, N.J.) both earned their first assists on Caldwell's two goals.
The Cougars outshot the Eagles by a 17-9 margin and had three more shots on goal. Sophomore
Justin Talbot (Moorestown, N.J.) (four saves) played well to help his squad get the victory.
Caldwell will look to build off of this exciting win when they welcome Georgian Court University to town in another "Cougars Around Campus" Game! on Saturday at 1:30 PM.
