LINCOLN, PA -- Senior forwards
Kayla Willis (Union, N.J.) and
Melissa Martinez (Elizabeth, N.J.) led the Cougars (6-2-1, 4-0-0) to a decisive 5-1 CACC win over Lincoln (PA) (3-4-0, 0-3-0), scoring two goals apiece at Lincoln University Stadium. Willis wasted no time getting Caldwell on the board as she scored her second and third goals of the season in the 4th and 17th minutes.
Martinez capped off the Cougars barrage with her fifth and sixth goals this season in the 56th and 59th minutes.
Freshman midfielder
Melissa Pires (Elizabeth, N.J.) also added to the furious rally with her third goal of the year in the 50th minute. Junior forward
Taina Gervais (Port-au-Prince, Haiti) and
Melissa Martinez recorded their second and sixth assist in the match.
Junior
Ariana Gaminara (Las Vegas, Nev) (two saves in 63 minutes) and freshman
Jackie Regan (Garden Grove, Calif.) (one save in 28 minutes) combined to help Caldwell earn their fourth straight win. The win propelled the Cougars to 4-0 in CACC play for the first time since 2012, when they started 5-0 in the league.
Caldwell will play against Wilmington University in Delaware on Saturday at 12 PM.
