CALDWELL, N.J. -- Freshman guard
Jahnel Lewis (Jersey City, N.J.) had 17 points, sophomore wing
Lucy Coogan (Kilkenny, Ireland) had 13 and soph guard
Tyler Dendy (Ossining, N.Y.) grabbed a career-high six rebounds as Caldwell women's basketball fell, 79-61, to Felician in CACC action at Newman Center on Wednesday.
Felician (7-12, 7-3 CACC) jumped out to a 20-8 lead after one quarter, but the Cougars would rally to within 30-23 on a pair of free throws by freshman forward
Shauntia Alexander (North Plainfield, N.J.) and a jumper by soph guard
Amyah Bray (Manchester, N.J.).
But the visitors would extend back to an 11-point halftime lead at 35-24, and despite a brief run, capped by Lewis' three getting the Cougars within eight at 44-36 with just under 7:00 left in the third, Felician would lead by double digits the rest of the way.
Freshman guard
Brooke Corbett (Staten Island, N.Y.) continued her fine defensive play, notching four steals.
The Cougars (4-14, 1-8) next host Georgian Court on Super Saturday at the Newman Center, beginning at 1 p.m.
