BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- Junior Joey Datta (Edison, N.J.) competed at the Paul Short Run presented by ASICS on Saturday at the Goodman Campus Cross Country Course at Lehigh University, on of a handful of Division II and III athletes at the event, which featured many of the top harriers in the nation from schools as large as Penn State, Army, Navy, Yale and Georgia Tech, among dozens of other majors.

Datta proved he belonged, placing in the top 40% of the elite field with a season-best time of 25:26.5 in the 8K race.

The Cougars' full team was scheduled to compete on Friday at the Golden Eagle Invite on Long Island, but the event was canceled due to poor weather conditions.

Caldwell will compete at the NJIT Highlander Challenge on Saturday at Branch Brook Park in Newark on Saturday.
