Jordan Mack (Yorba Linda, Calif.) which followed two straight service aces by Schubert-Brown to give the Cougars a commanding 17-4 lead as they went on to the set win.
The teams battled it out in the fourth, the Cougars falling behind, 19-14, until four straight points narrowed the deficit to one. After a tradeof side-outs moved the score to 20-19, DU (1-7, 1-0) edged ahead, 23-19, before a service error and kills by Schubert-Brown and junior hitter
Katherine Putsky (Rockaway, N.J.) pulled CU back within 23-22. But the Chargers took the last two points to close out the contest.
