WORCESTER, Mass. -- Senior forward Israel Dos Santos Neto (Salvador Bahia, Brazil) and graduate forward Andre Vieira (Union, N.J.) notched first-half goals and sophomore goalkeeper Kevin Sabadin (Mantena, Brazil) recorded 11 saves, including nine in the second half, as the Caldwell men's soccer team took a road win, 2-0, over Assumption at Normand Marois '57 Field on Thursday.

Dos Santos Neto's marker in the 25th minute, assisted by senior midfielder Murilo DeOliveira (Sao Paulo, Brazil), was followed 11 minutes later by Vieira's tally, assisted by his countrymate Dos Santos Neto.

Assumption got off 28 shots to the Cougars' 18, but CU had eight corner kick opportunities to just to by the host Greyhounds.

It was a successful season opener for second-year Head Coach Evan Marques, whose Cougars continue their road trip through New England with a game at Bentley on Saturday at 11 a.m.
