Daly made it stand up, entering in the fifth inning in relief of freshman righthander
Olivia Kennedy (Chenango Forks, N.Y.), who upped her record to 7-2 with the victory. Daly faced the minimum nine batters over the final three innings, allowing no hits or walks for her second save.Â
The Cougars added an insurance run in the top of the seventh on doubles by Rodriguez and Tavaska for the final margin.Â
The contest was a single game makeup of an earlier rainout in which only one game had been completed.
The Cougars step out of CACC play to face Pace on Saturday at noon at Caldwell Athletic fields, beginning a string of 10 straight home games to end the regular season. Caldwell will also host a first-round CACC Tournament contest on April 29.
