WEST CALDWELL, N.J. -- Senior attacker Michael Brown (Glenolden, Pa.) netted a team-best three goals and junior attacker Jason Staudte (Sound Beach, N.Y.) contributed a goal and three assists as Caldwell men's lacrosse dropped a narrow 10-8 verdict to Felician in the CACC opener for both teams at Essex Valley Field.

Goals by Brown and Staudte gave the Cougars (1-5, 0-1) an early 2-1 lead five minutes into the first quarter. After two tallies by senior attacker Owen Healey (Washington, N.J.) later pulled the Cougars to within 5-4 late in the first half, the visiting Golden Falcons (2-4, 1-0) scored five of the next seven goals for a 10-6 edge entering the fourth quarter. An unassisted marker by freshman attacker Gavin Starr (Montgomery, N.Y.) and two by Brown were part of a late rally that fell just short.

Senior netminder Tim Livingston (Holtsville, N.Y.) recorded 20 saves for the Cougars.

Caldwell next visits CACC foe Wilmington next Saturday in its next action.
