Kelsey Maxwell (Center Moriches, N.Y.) scored two goals and senior defender
Phoebe Ohnemuller (Mays Landing, N.J.) had another as Caldwell women's lacrosse fell in its CACC opener at Jefferson by a 24-3 count.
After Maxwell's first goal got the Cougars on the board with 6:42 left in the first quarter, Ohnemuller followed four minutes later with an unassisted tally to pull Caldwell to within 3-2.
Maxwell's other score came with just under 6:00 left in the third, on a feed from freshman midfielderÂ
Megan Molinelli (East Windsor, N.Y.).

Sarahkate Schneider (Somerset, N.J.) recorded 14 saves for Caldwell.
Sophomore defender
Brady Kells (Parsippany, N.J.) grabbed a team-best three ground balls, while Molinelli's three draw controls topped the squad.
The Cougars visit CACC foe Post on Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Waterbury, Conn., in their next action, and return home to take on Wilmington on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Essex Valley Field.
