WEST CALDWELL, N.J. --
Emily Lasko (Jackson, N.J.) had four goals and six assists and
Madison Ellis (Wayne, N.J.) tallied six goals, pacing Caldwell women's lacrosse to its first win of the season, a 21-5 triumph over District of Columbia at Essex Valley Field.
The Cougars (1-3) took a 3-0 lead in the first six minutes on two Ellis goals sandwiched around a Lasko tally. After a Firebirds (1-5) marker at 7:16, Caldwell scored five straight, two by
Kelsey Maxwell (Center Moriches, N.Y.), with Lasko assisting on three of the goals for an 8-1 margin which ballooned to 13-4 by halftime.
Other standout performers for Caldwell were Maxwell, who finished with four goals and an assist,
Megan Molinelli (East Windsor, N.J.), who had two goals and two assists, matched by
Meghan Korzevinski (New Hyde Park, N.Y.).
Serena Barra (Cranford, N.J.)
 and
Sarahkate Schneider (Somerset, N.J.) split time in net, with Barra permitting four goals and stopping three shots to earn the win.
The Cougars open CACC play at Thomas Jefferson University on Sunday at noon in Philadelphia.
