Jayden Paladino (Hawthorne, N.J.) netted four goals as the Cougars fell short in overtime 10-9 to St. Thomas Aquinas College.
The Cougars fall to 1-4, while the Spartans improve to 3-2

Owen Healey (Washington, N.J.) and Paladino scored first quarter goals as Caldwell led 2-1 after the opening quarter.
Paladino scored a man-up goal early in the second quarter but the Spartans answered with two goals to lead 4-3. Senior
Michael Brown (Glenolden, Pa.) and freshman
Gavin Starr (Montgomery, N.Y.) tallied late goals to give the Cougars a 4-3 halftime lead.
In the third quarter, Paladino scored twice, while Brown added a goal but the Spartans tied the score at 8-8 after the third. The teams traded goals in the fourth quarter as junior
Jason Staudte (Sound Beach, N.Y.) scored the lone Cougar goal as the game headed to overtime tied at 9-9.
St. Thomas Aquinas netted a goal halftime through the overtime period to edge the Cougars for the win.
Senior
Tim Livingston (Holtsville, N.Y.) played all 62 minutes, recording 19 saves.
The Cougars travel to Assumption University for a non-conference contest on Wednesday, March 15 at 3 pm.
