Sophia DeMauro (New York) scored a career-high 18, including four three pointers and sophomore
Lucy Coogan (Kilkenny, Ireland) added 17 and grabbed a career-best 14 rebounds as Caldwell women's basketball fell at St. Michaels, 67-62, in a non-league game at Ross Sports Center on Monday.
The Cougars led, 34-31, at the half and extended to their largest lead of 57-49 with 5:57 left on a DeMauro three.  But SMC (4-6) scored 13 straight over the next four minutes to take the lead and made four free throws over the last 2:00 to secure the win.
Freshman
Jahnel Lewis (Jersey City, N.J.) had 11 points and five rebounds for the Cougars (3-5), who made just four of 13 shots in the fourth quarter.
Caldwell now breaks for the holiday, returning to action on Saturday, Dec. 30, at Bridgeport.
