Reese Sherwood (Salem, Ore.) posted five kills, seven assists and eight digs as Caldwell volleyball fell in three sets in a CACC matchup at Georgian Court on Saturday.
After Georgian Court took the first set, the Cougars battled from a 19-14 deficit with a 5-2 run to get within 21-19. But the hosts took four of the next five points to take the set.
In the third, a 5-0 run, which included four straight service aces by soph setter
Jordan Mack (Yorba Linda, Calif.), got the Cougars back in it at 13-12 GCU. But the Lions scored the next three points and the Cougars would get no closer than two the rest of the set.
Mack had nine assists and five total aces to lead CU. Schubert-Brown added seven digs and two blocks. Senior middle blocker
Amanda Schiltz (Durham, N.C.) had five blocks.
Caldwell (1-13, 1-7 CACC) next hosts Dominican on Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the Newman Center.
