CALDWELL, N.J.--Sophomore forward Rosio Cardenas (Forked River, N.J.), graduate forward Sarah Costanza (Morris Plains, N.J.) and junior forward Melissa Martinez (Elizabeth, N.J.) each netted goals and sophomore GK Ariana Gaminara (Las Vegas) made three saves as Caldwell women's soccer earned a hard-fought, 3-1 CACC triumph over Chestnut Hill at Caldwell Athletic Field.

Cardenas scored in the 18th minute, taking a pass from Martinez and depositing it in goal for the 1-0 Cougars lead.

After Chestnut Hill (3-4-1, 2-2 CACC) tied it early in th second half, the Cougars retook the lead on a penalty kick by Costanza in the 58th minute.

On a counter attack, Martinez then took a through pass from graduate forward Maggie Motolese (Schnecksville, Pa.), found open space and beat the keeper in the 65th minute for the insurance goal.

The Cougars (5-3-2, 3-2-1 CACC) next visit Georgian Court on Saturday at noon.
