CALDWELL, N.J.- Caldwell University women's basketball freshman
Lucy Coogan (Kilkenny, Ireland) netted a career-high 22 points as the Cougars outlasted division leader 72-67 Dominican University of New York in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference contest.
The Cougars improve to 10-9 on the season and 6-5 in the CACC, while the Chargers fall to 12-8 and 7-3 in conference play.

Casey O'Shaughnessy (Brooklyn, N.Y.) drained three-pointers to pull the Cougars even at 12 but Dominican made a late run that lasted into the second quarter as they pushed ahead 28-20.
Caldwell rallied back as senior
Halle Brown (Downingtown, Pa.) connected on a three-pointer in the run to pull the Cougars to within 33-31 at the 3:26 mark. The Chargers answered with a late run to take a 42-35 lead at halftime.

Alisa Blalock (Uniondale, N.Y.) drained a triple, netting five points in the comeback. Coogan scored a bucket to tie the score at 58 and later capped the run with a trifecta at the 3:34 mark of the fourth quarter to put Caldwell ahead 62-58.
The Chargers battled back with one final run, jumping back in the lead at 67-66 with just under a minute to play. Graduate
Saundra Cleckley (Far Rockaway, N.Y.) connected on a pair of free throws to give Caldwell the lead ay 68-67. Following a Charger turnover, Coogan added two from the line and dropped in two more free throws to seal the win in the waning seconds.
Coogan shot 3-for-5 from downtown, finishing with a career-high 22 points along with five rebounds and three blocks. O'Shaughnessy netted 11 points, five boards and three assists, while Blalock added 11 points, three rebounds and two steals. Wagoner netted nine points, six rebounds and four assists.
The Cougars start a four-game road swing as they travel to Chestnut Hill College on Saturday, January 28 for a CACC game at 1 pm.
