CALDWELL, N.J.- Caldwell University women's volleyball junior
Amanda Schiltz (Durham, N.C.) tied a season-high with 11 kills as the Cougars defeated Goldey-Beacom College 3-1 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference contest.
The Cougars improve to 4-8 overall and even their CACC record at 3-3, while the Lightning fall to 0-15 and 0-4 in conference play.
Caldwell took the opening set 25-13 but Goldey-Becom rallied to even the match with a 28-26 second set win. The Cougars jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the third set on their way to a 25-17 win. Caldwell opened up a 9-2 lead in the fourth set as they took the match with a 25-14 win.
Schilt tied a season-high with 11 kills and tallied a season-high six blocks, including five solo. Senior
Mary Grace Hartmann (Cutchogue, N.Y.) added nine kills, junior
Reese Sherwood (Salem Ore.) finished with nine kills, 26 assists and eight digs.
Freshman
Wyette Schubert-Brown (Chatsworth, N.J.) recorded nine kills and five digs, while graduate
Samantha Ashton (Colonia, N.J.) totaled seven kills and four digs. Graduate
Shayna Saltzman (Pine Beach, N.J.) posted 16 assists and seven digs, while graduate
Humiko Stormer (Luckey, Ohio) netted a match-high 26 digs.
Caldwell travel to American International College for a non-conference match on Tuesday, September 27 at 7 pm.
