CALDWELL, N.J.- Caldwell University men's soccer senior
Chris Ferri (Parsippany, N.J.) and junior
Alex Spencer (St. Andrew, Jamaica) netted goals but the Cougars finished with a 2-2 draw against Thomas Jefferson University in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference contest.
The Cougars move to 2-5-2 overall and 1-1-2 in the CACC, while the Rams stand at 4-4-1 and 3-0-1 in conference play.
Caldwell struck first as Spencer found the back of the net off a feed from senior
Andre Vieira (Union, N.J.) in the fourth minute of play. The Rams pulled even in the 21st minute as the teams headed into halftime tied at 1-1.
The Cougars pushed ahead early in the second half as junior
Israel Dos Santos Neto (Salvador Bahia, Brazil) found Ferri in front of the net to put Caldwell back in front 2-1.
Thomas Jefferson pulled even in the 69th minute with a goal to the score at 2-2. Both teams had scoring chances down the stretch but the game ended in a draw.
Sophomore
Dylan Valencia (Elizabeth, N.J.) played all 90 minutes, recording three saves.
The Cougars travel to the University of Bridgeport for a CACC contest on Wednesday, September 28 at 6 pm.
