NEW HAVEN, Conn.- Caldwell University women's volleyball graduate
Shayna Saltzman (Pine Beach, N.J.) recorded 12 assists in the Cougars 3-1 loss to Southern Connecticut State University in a non-conference match.
The Cougars fall to 1-2 on the season, while the Owls improve to 4-1.
Southern Connecticut State took the opening set 25-16 but the Cougars took the second set 25-23 to even the match. The Owls won the final two sets 25-17 and 25-15 to win the match.
Junior
Reese Sherwood (Salem, Ore.) posted a triple-double with 10 kills, 13 assists and 11 digs, while freshman
Wyette Schubert-Brown (Chatsworth, N.J.) added six kills and one block assist.
Senior
Mary Grace Hartmann (Cutchogue, N.Y.), junior
Amanda Schiltz (Durham, N.C.) and

Gabriella Maffei (Oak Ridge, N.J.) recorded five kills each in the match. Saltzman posted 12 assists and 11 digs, while graduate
Humiko Stormer (Luckey, Ohio) finished with 17 digs and two aces.
The Cougars host Mercy College on Thursday, September 1 at 5 pm for their home opener.
