CALDWELL, N.J.- Caldwell University Assistant Vice President/Director of Athletics Mark A. Corino announced the hiring of Evan Marques '16 as the head coach for the men's soccer program and athletics administrator effective in August. 
 
"I would like to thank Mark Corino, Nate Guagliardi, and the entire Caldwell Community for giving me this opportunity to come back and head the Men's Soccer Program," said Marques. "It's an honor to lead this program that I am so very passionate about as a Caldwell Alum. Also, would like to thank my mentors and previous experiences that have prepared me to transform this program to new heights. I am excited to continue the program forward and make a statement in the CACC."
 
Marques returns to Caldwell after staring for four years for the Cougars and serving one season as an assistant coach in 2018. He played in 62 games for the Cougars, totaling seven points on one goal and five assists, primarily as a defender for Caldwell.
 
Corino said, "Anytime we have the opportunity to bring back a former student-athlete and former coach, we are extremely excited about the future of the program. Evan brings a wealth of coaching experience from all levels of the NCAA and we believe that he will do an excellent job leading the men's soccer program in the competitive CACC. His connection to the men's soccer alumni and understanding of the Caldwell community will allow him to continue to build those relationships moving forward."
 
Marques brings a wealth of coaching experience at all levels of the NCAA, serving on the coaching staffs of College of Saint Elizabeth, Saint Thomas Aquinas College and New Jersey Institute of Technology. At NJIT, he was part of the coaching staff that was selected as the ASUN and Regional Coaching Staff of the Year.
 
Marques earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Caldwell in Business Administration with a concentration in Small Business and Entrepreneurship.
