NEWARK, N.J.- Caldwell University baseball sophomore
Noah Putney (Glassboro, N.J.) hit a two-run homerun as part of the team's three-homerun day as the Cougars came up short to Bloomfield College 5-4 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference contest.

The Cougars fall to 6-17 overall and 1-10 in the CACC, while Bears improve to 10-15 and 4-5 in conference play.

Bloomfield took the lead with two runs in the third inning. Caldwell battled back as Putney tied the game with a two-run homerun in the third. Sophomore
Zach Saunders (Adelphi, Md.) blasted a solo homerun in the fourth to put the Cougars in front 3-2.

The Bears answered in the sixth as they tied the game with one run and took the lead with a run in the seventh.

Caldwell pulled even in the eighth as senior
Kyle Richards (Sayreville, N.J.) connected on solo homerun to tie the score at 4-4.

Bloomfield pushed across a run in the bottom of the eighth and kept the Cougars off the board in the top of the ninth.

The Cougars host Queens College for a non-conference game on Thursday, April 7 at 3 pm.
