PHILADELPHIA, Pa.- Caldwell University softball junior
Courtney Grundhauser (Easton, Pa.) went 6-for-6 with a homerun and four RBI over two game as the Cougars swept a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference doubleheader against Chestnut Hill College. The Cougars took the opener 13-4 and completed the sweep with a 12-0 win in game two, both in five innings.

The Cougars improve to 14-5 overall and 4-0 in the CACC, while the Griffins drop to 6-20 and 0-8 in conference play.

In the opener, freshman
Allison Winters (Blairstown, N.J.) singled in the first run of the game in the opening inning. The Cougars loaded the bases and graduate
Paige Sandoval (Aliso Viejo, Calif.) cleared the bases with a three-run double for a 4-0 lead.

The Griffins added three runs in the first but Caldwell answered with five in the second inning. Senior
Maya Rodriguez (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) blasted a three-run homerun, while senior
Emma Cooney (Livingston, N.J.) doubled in two runs. Caldwell scored four runs over the final two innings to force the run rule.

Mariah Culver (Owego, N.Y.) pitched a complete game, allowing four runs (three earned) on four hits with five strikeouts.

In the nightcap, senior
Kayla Daly (Babylon, N.Y.) tossed four scoreless innings, scattering three hits with four strikeouts. Winters pitched the final innings, allowing no runs.

Chloe VanGorder (Harveys Lake, Pa.) singled in two runs in the fifth, while freshman
Ashleigh Tavaska (Jackson, N.J.) went 2-for-3 with three runs scored.
