GARDEN CITY, N.Y.- The Caldwell University softball team fell in a non-conference doubleheader to nationally ranked #25 and East Region leader Adelphi University. The Panthers won both ends of the doubleheader by the same 4-0 score.

Paige Sandoval (Aliso Viejo, Calif.) and senior
Danielle Kroll (Tinton Falls, N.J.) both went 2-for-3 in the game as the Cougars collected six hits in the game.

Mariah Culver (Owego, N.Y.) tossed 3 2/3 innings, allowing four runs on eight hits with two strikeouts, taking the loss. Freshman
Allison Winters (Blairstown, N.J.) pitched 2 1/3 scoreless innings, striking out three.

In the nightcap, Caldwell had four hits with Sandoval collecting a hit in game two.

Kayla Daly (Babylon, N.Y.) took the loss, allowing three runs (two earned) on five hits with three strikeouts over five innings. Winters pitched one inning, allowing one run on one hit with on strikeout.

The Cougars host Wilmington University for a conference doubleheader on Saturday, April 30 at noon for Senior Day. Â
