CALDWELL, N.J.- Caldwell University baseball senior
Frank Lehmann (Colonia, N.J.) scored twice, while sophomore
Noah Putney (Glassboro, N.J.) collected three hits with a solo homerun as the Cougars won their third straight with an 8-2 win over Nyack College in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference contest.

The Cougars improve to 11-20 overall and 6-12 in the CACC, while the Warriors drop to 0-20 and 0-16 in conference play.

Caldwell scored runs in six of their eight at-bats as got on the board with runs in the second, third, fifth and sixth inning.

In the second, Putney reached on an infield single and stole second and third. Senior
Jalen March (Baltimore, Md.) singled to score Putney, who connected on a solo homerun in the third inning.

Lehmann and freshman
Santo Anzalone (Middle Village, N.Y.) pulled of a double steal in the fifth as Lehmann scored the third run of the game. In the sixth, junior
Elias Negron (Virginia Beach, Va.) walked, stole second and scored on a single by freshman
Liam Lombardi (Stony Point, N.Y.).

The teams traded runs in the seventh as freshman
Liam James (Roseland, N.J.) scored for the Cougars. Anzalone added a sacrifice fly in the eighth to score senior
Kyle Richards (Sayreville, N.J.), while Putney drove in Richards and Lehmann with a double. Â

Lehmann drew three walks, scored two runs and stole a team-high three bases as part of a 14-stolen base game for the Cougars. Putney went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs scored and two stolen bases.

Freshman
Brandon Scalisi (New City, N.Y.) tossed two scoreless innings, allowing three hits and struck out two to earn the win.

The Cougars host Goldey-Beacom College for a CACC doubleheader on Saturday, April 23 at 2 pm at the Kiwanis Oval.
