PHILADELPHIA, Pa.- Caldwell University softball junior
Courtney Grundhauser (Easton, Pa.) and freshman
Allison Winters (Blairstown, N.J.) each connected on two homeruns as the Cougars swept a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference doubleheader against Holy Family University. Caldwell won the opener 13-4 and took the nightcap 10-4.

The Cougars improve to 26-7 overall and 14-2, while the Tigers drop to 8-27 and 3-9 in conference play.

In the opener, Caldwell got on the board with two runs as they took advantage of a Holy Family error. Grundhauser blasted a solo homerun in the inning. The Cougars added two more runs in the second as freshman
Jessica Klein (Trevose, Pa.) singled in a rum, while senior
Maya Rodriguez (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) drove in a run with a groundout for a 5-0 lead.

The Tigers got on the board with a run in the second inning. The Cougars loaded the bases in the fourth inning as Winters cleared the bases with a two-out three-run double Grundhauser added two runs in the sixth with a two-run double as part of her three RBI game one. Holy Family tallied three runs in the sixth to cut the score to 10-4.
The Cougars added three runs in the seventh as Rodriguez singled in two runs as she drove in three in the opener along with going 3-for-5 at the plate. Winters added another run scoring hit as she totaled four RBI in the opener. Klein went 3-for-4 with four runs scored in game one.
Senior
Mariah Culver (Owego, N.Y.) tossed 5 1/3 innings, allowing two runs on five hits with six strikeouts in the win. Winters allowed two runs on four hits in 1 2/3 innings in relief.

In the nightcap, Caldwell hit four homeruns as Winters powered the Cougars offense with two homeruns and a career-high five RBI. She connected on a three-run homerun in the third and added a two-run shot in the seventh.

Grundhauser hit a three-run homerun in the third, while freshman
Kaylin Brozaitis (Rancho Murieta, Calif.) tacked on a solo homerun in the seventh. Klein drove in a run in the sixth with a run scoring single.

Senior
Kayla Daly (Babylon, N.Y.) tossed 4 1/3 innings, allowing three runs on four hits with six strikeouts to earn the win. Winters allowed one run on three hits with four strikeouts in 2 2/3 innings in relief.

The Cougars travel to Southern Connecticut State University for a non-conference doubleheader on Tuesday, April 19 at 2 pm.
