CALDWELL, N.J.- The Caldwell University softball team rapped out 29 hits over two games as the Cougars swept a non-conference twin bill against The College of Saint Rose. The Cougars won the first game 13-0 in five innings and took the nightcap 8-0 in five innings.

The Cougars improve to 12-5 overall, while the Golden Knights fall to 7-14.

In the opener, Caldwell scored runs in all four at-bats with five in the first and fourth innings, two in the second and one in the third. Junior
Taylor Mischler (Endicott, N.Y.) went 3-for-3 with one run scored and an RBI, while graduate
Paige Sandoval (Aliso Viejo, Calif.) also went 3-for-3 with two doubles and four RBI. Freshman
Ashleigh Tavaska (Jackson, N.J.) went 1-for-3 with a doubles, two runs scored and one RBI, while senior
Maya Rodriguez (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) connected on a two-run homerun in the second inning.

Mariah Culver (Owego, N.Y.) tossed a three-hit complete game shutout, striking out one to improve to 5-1 on the season.

Courtney Grundhauser (Easton, Pa.) went 3-for-3 with a triple, two runs scored and two RBI. Senior
Chloe VanGorder (Harveys Lake, Pa.) collected two hits, including a solo homerun in the fourth inning. Tavaska and senior
Emma Cooney (Livingston, N.J.) each drove in a pair of runs in the win.
