CALDWELL, N.J.- Caldwell University women's basketball junior Casey O'Shaughnessy (Brooklyn, N.Y.) netted 22 points as the Cougars came up short to Felician University 65-62 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference contest.
 
The Cougars fall to 12-12 overall and 7-7 in the CACC, while the Golden Falcons improve to 10-13 and 8-6 in conference play. 
 
O'Shaughnessy connected on three trifectas in the first half to help the Cougars build a 34-20 lead midway through the second quarter. Felician made a late run including a three-pointer in the final seconds to cut the score to 36-30 at halftime.
 
Senior Paula Dits (Alicante, Spain) and graduate Shanice Graves (Brooklyn, N.Y.) drained three-pointers early in the second half to extend the Caldwell lead to 47-38 midway through the third quarter. The Golden Falcons pulled even at 51 at the close of the quarter.
 
The teams traded leads through the fourth quarter with Felician scoring five points over the final 1:10 to outpace the Cougars down the stretch.
 
O'Shaughnessy led the way with 22 points and three assists, while junior Rebecca Morrison (Ayrshire, Scotland) finished with 16 points and seven rebounds. Graves led the team with 10 rebounds, while graduate Saundra Cleckley (Far Rockaway, N.J.) added four assists and four rebounds.
 
The Cougars and the Golden Falcons face off again in Rutherford on Monday, February 21 at 1 pm.
