CALDWELL, N.J.- Caldwell University women's volleyball graduate
Humiko Stormer (Luckey, Ohio) eclipsed 2,000 career digs in the Cougars 3-0 setback to Wilmington University in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference contest on senior day.
The Cougars fall to 8-16 overall and 7-9 in the CACC, while Wildcats improve to 15-14 and 11-5 in conference play.
Wilmington took the first two sets 25-18 and 25-19. The teams played a competitive third set with several ties including 22-22 but the Wildcats pushed ahead to win 25-23 to take the match.
Junior
Amanda Schiltz (Durham, N.C.) led the way with 13 kills and two total blocks. Junior
Reese Sherwood (Salem Ore.) totaled eight kills, 19 assists and 13 digs, while freshman
Wyette Schubert-Brown (Chatsworth, N.J.) added seven kills and four digs.
Graduate
Samantha Ashton (Colonia, N.J.) posted five kills and five digs, while senior
Mary Grace Hartmann (Cutchogue, N.Y.) finished with five kills, two blocks and three digs.
Graduate
Shayna Saltzman (Pine Beach, N.J.) added nine assists and eight digs, while senior
Alexsandra Mojica (Kearny, N.J.) netted two blocks and four digs. Sophomore
Karin Ojeda (Toms River, N.J.) totaled 11 digs and two aces.
Stormer led the Cougars with 17 digs as she became the second player in school history in the NCAA-era with over 2,000 career digs. She finished the match with 2,004 career digs.
Prior to the match, the Cougars recognized its graduating seniors in Ashton, Hartmann, Saltzman, Mojica and Stormer.
The Cougars travel to Chestnut Hill College in a CACC contest on Monday, October 31 at 7 pm.
