CALDWELL, N.J.- Caldwell University men's soccer junior
Alex Spencer (St. Andrew, Jamaica) netted a goal as the Cougars came up short to Holy Family University 2-1 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference contest.
The Cougars fall 4-7-3 overall and 3-3-3 in the CACC, while the Tigers improve to 8-5-1 and 6-1-1 in conference play.
Holy Family jumped out to a two-goal lead with scores in the 14th and 20th minute of play to pull ahead 2-0.
Caldwell answered early in the second half as Spencer netted a goal off a corner kick from sophomore
Joel Genao (Union, N.J.) in the 47th minute. Caldwell had additional scoring chances down the stretch but could not come up with the equalizer.
Holy Family held the advantage in shots 17-13 and shots on goal 12-5, while Caldwell held the edge in corner kicks 8-7.
Sophomore
Dylan Valencia (Elizabeth, N.J.) recorded 10 saves in 90 minutes in net.
