PHILADELPHIA, Pa.- Caldwell University women's basketball graduate
Saundra Cleckley (Far Rockaway, N.Y.) scored 15 points in the Cougars 85-57 loss to Thomas Jefferson University in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference contest.
The Cougars to fall to 10-7 overall and 5-3 in the CACC, while the Rams improve to 12-5 and 5-3 in conference play.
The Rams took an 18-13 lead late in the first quarter of play. Caldwell answered with a 16-6 run as junior
Jessica Wagoner (Clifton Park, N.Y.) scored four points to help the Cougars build a 29-24 lead midway through the second quarter. Thomas Jefferson rallied late to take a 41-39 lead at halftime.
Thomas Jefferson added to their lead to start the second half as they pushed ahead 58-47 late in the third quarter. The Rams maintained their lead the rest of the way.
Cleckley led the way with 15 points, four rebounds and two assists. Wagoner tallied 10 points, seven boards and three blocks. Junior
Casey O'Shaughnessy (Brooklyn, N.Y.) added eight points, five boards, three assists and four steals.
The Cougars travel to Dominican College for a key CACC North Division contest on Wednesday, January 26 at 5:30 pm.
