WATERBURY, Conn.- Caldwell University women's basketball junior
Rebecca Morrison (Ayrshire, Scotland) netted 13 points in the Cougars 56-32 loss to Post University in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference North Division game.
The Cougars fall to 10-6 overall and 5-2 in the CACC, while the Eagles improve to 10-3 and 4-1 in conference play.
Post jumped out to a 15-9 lead after the opening quarter. Caldwell battled back in the second quarter as senior
Paula Dits (Alicante, Spain) scored four points to close the gap to 22-19 late in the half. The Eagles scored twice in the final minute to take a 27-19 lead at halftime.
The Eagles opened with a run to start the second half to push their lead into double digits and held on down the stretch.
Morrison led the way with 13 points and six rebounds, while junior
Casey O'Shaughnessy (Brooklyn, N.Y.) totaled seven points. Dits posted seven boards, while graduate
Shanice Graves (Brooklyn, N.Y.) finished with six points and three rebounds. Junior
Jessica Wagoner (Clifton Park, N.Y.) recorded seven rebounds and three blocks.
The Cougars travel to Thomas Jefferson University for a CACC contest on Sunday, January 23 at 3 pm.
