CALDWELL, N.J.- Caldwell University women's basketball graduate
Shanice Graves (Brooklyn, N.Y.) posted a double-double as the Cougars won their fourth in a row with a 62-43 win over Bloomfield College in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference contest.
The Cougars to improve to 10-5 overall and 5-1 in the CACC, while the Bears fall to 2-13 and 0-7 in conference play.
Caldwell jumped out to a 21-6 lead late in the opening quarter as Graves drained a pair of triples, while junior
Casey O'Shaughnessy (Brooklyn, N.Y.) added a trifecta in the quarter. Bloomfield rallied back in the second quarter as they closed to gap to 30-25 at halftime.
The Cougars pulled away to start the third quarter as they opened the second half with a 16-3 run. Graves connected on a three-pointer, while O'Shaughnessy totaled six points in the run to put the Cougars ahead 46-28 at the 3:44 mark. Caldwell maintained a double-digit advantage the rest of the way.
O'Shaughnessy led the way with 18 points, five rebounds and six assists. Graves recorded a double-double with 16 and 13 points, while shooting 4-for-6 from downtown. Junior
Rebecca Morrison (Ayrshire, Scotland) added 12 points, eight rebounds, three assists and two steals. Senior
Paula Dits (Alicante, Spain) grabbed 10 rebounds, while junior
Jessica Wagoner (Clifton Park, N.Y.) posted three blocks.
The Cougars travel to Post University for a pivotal CACC contest on Thursday, January 20 at 5:30 pm.
