CALDWELL, N.J.- The Caldwell University women's volleyball team posted their second straight victory as they defeated Nyack College 3-1 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match.
The Cougars improve to 2-7 and 2-1 in the CACC, while the Warriros fall to 0-9 and 0-3 in conference play.
Nyack took the opening set 25-23 but the Cougars battled back to even the match with a 25-22 second set win. Caldwell won the final two sets 28-26 and 25-21 to take the match.
Sophomore
Reese Sherwood (Salem, Ore.) led the Cougars with 18 kills and 18 digs, while sophomore
Amanda Schiltz (Durham, N.C.) tallied 17 kills and four total blocks (two solo).
Senior
Olivia Bellamy (Davison, Mich.) added 12 kills in the win, while senior
Samantha Ashton (Colonia, N.J.) totaled 40 assists and 21 digs.
Graduate
Shayna Saltzman (Pine Beach, N.J.) recorded 12 digs, while senior
Humiko Stormer (Luckey, Ohio) led the Cougars with 24 digs.
The Cougars travel to Felician University for a CACC contest on Wednesday, September 29 at 7 pm.
