CALDWELL, N.J.- Caldwell University women's volleyball sophomore
Reese Sherwood (Salem, Ore.) led the Cougars with a triple-double as the Cougars earned their first win of the season with a 3-0 sweep over Dominican College in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play.
The Cougars improve to 1-7 and 1-1 in the CACC, while the Chargers fall to 2-8 and 0-2 in conference play.
Caldwell won the match in three tightly contested set 26-24, 25-22 and 25-18 for their first conference win of the season.
Sherwood contributed across the board in the win as she tallied 11 kills, 15 assists and 10 digs along with three service aces and two block assists.
Sophomore
Amanda Schiltz (Durham, N.C.) chipped in 10 kills, while junior
Mary Grace Hartmann (Cutchogue, N.Y.) added seven kills and posted a .462 hitting percentage. Senior
Olivia Bellamy (Davison, Mich.) totaled six kills and finished with a .400 hitting percentage.
Senior
Samantha Ashton (Colonia, N.J.) posted 17 assists and four digs, while graduate
Shayna Saltzman (Pine Beach, N.J.) netted four kills and 12 digs. Freshman
Karin Ojeda (Toms River, N.J.) added 15 kills, while senior
Humiko Stormer (Luckey, Ohio) led the Cougars with 16 digs.
The Cougars host Nyack College for a CACC contest on Saturday, September 25 at 3 pm.
