CALDWELL, N.J.- The Caldwell University women's volleyball team fell to Bloomfield College 3-0 in their Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference opener.
The Cougars fall to 0-6 and 0-1 in the CACC, while the Bears improve to 2-2 and 1-0 in conference play.
Bloomfield took the opener set 25-15 and won set two 25-18. The Cougars rallied to tie set three at 20-20 before falling 25-23.
Sophomore
Reese Sherwood (Salem, Ore.) led the Cougars with nine kills, nine assists, two block assists and two digs. Senior
Olivia Bellamy (Davison, Mich.) added four kills, while sophomore
Amanda Schiltz (Durham, N.C.) posted four kills.
Senior
Samantha Ashton (Colonia, N.J.) recorded 11 assists and three digs, while senior
Humiko Stormer (Luckey, Ohio) finished with nine digs.
The Cougars travel to the University of the Sciences for a CACC contest on Friday, September 17 at 7 pm.
