EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa.- The Caldwell University women's volleyball team fell short to the University of Pittsburgh-Johnstown and East Stroudsburg University to close out play on day two of the East Stroudsburg Tournament.
The Cougars fall to 0-4 on the season.
In their opening match against Pitt.-Johnstown, the Cougars fell in three sets, 25-7, 25-15 and 25-14.
Sophomore
Reese Sherwood (Salem, Ore.) led the Cougars with eight kills, eight assists, two blocks and six digs. Senior
Olivia Bellamy (Davison, Mich.) added four kills and two blocks. Senior
Samantha Ashton (Colonia, N.J.) finished with six assists and six digs.
The Cougars closed out the tournament against the host Warriors, falling in three sets, 25-22, 25-15 and 25-13.
Sophomore
Amanda Schiltz (Durham, N.C.) tallied 10 kills for the Cougars, while junior
Alexsandra Mojica (Kearny, N.J.) totaled four kills.
Sherwood finished with three kills, 10 assists and three total blocks. Ashton posted nine assists and nine digs, while senior
Humiko Stormer (Luckey, Ohio) totaled 14 digs.
The Cougars host Southern Connecticut State University on Tuesday, September 14 at 7 pm at the George R. Newman Center.
