LYNDHURST, N.J.- Caldwell University men's lacrosse sophomore
Michael Brown (Glenolden, Pa.) scored a pair of goals as the Cougars fell to Felician University 12-5 in a non-conference game.
The Cougars fall to 1-1, while the Golden Falcons improve to 1-3.
Felician jumped out in front with three goals in the opening quarter to take the early lead.
Caldwell closed the gap in the second quarter as Brown netted a goal at the 11:27 mark. Freshman
Jayden Paladino (Hawthorne, N.J.) scored at the 7:54 mark to close the gap to 3-2.
Sophomore
Kevin Albright (Mays Landing, N.J.) pulled the Cougars even at 3-3 as he netted a goal with 7:17 left in the first half.
Felician pulled ahead 5-3 late in the second quarter but graduate
Chris Snow (Ledgewood, N.J.) added a tally to cut the score to 5-4 with 3:50 remaining in the quarter. The Golden Falcons added a goal with under two minutes to play to lead 6-4 at halftime.
The Golden Falcons scored five goals in the third quarter to push ahead 11-4. Brown netted his second goal of the game early in the fourth quarter but Felician tallied the final goal of the game midway through the quarter.
Junior
Wayne Safreed (Mt. Arlington, N.J.) recorded eight saves in the first half, while sophomore
Tim Livingston (Holtsville, N.Y.) took over in the second half in net, posting four saves.
The Cougars host Post University in a non-conference game on Wednesday, April 7 at 4 pm at Essex Valley Field in West Caldwell.
