CALDWELL, N.J.- Caldwell University men's soccer sophomore Andre Vieira (Union, N.J.) found the back of the net twice as the Cougars fell 5-2 to Thomas Jefferson University in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference contest.
 
The Cougars fall to 1-5-0 overall and 1-5-0 in the CACC, while the Rams improve to 2-3-0 and 2-3-0 in conference play.
 
Caldwell struck first as Vieira scored the opening tally of the game off an assist from freshman Israel Dos Santos Neto (Salvador Bahia, Brazil) in the 20th minute. The goal held up for the first 45 minutes as the Cougars maintained a 1-0 halftime lead.
 
The Rams netted three goals over the first 10 minutes of the second half to pull ahead 3-1. Jefferson added a goal in the 70th minute for a 4-1 lead.
 
Caldwell answered in the 71st minute as the Neto to Vieira combination tallied the Cougars second goal of the game.
 
Jefferson added a goal with under two minutes to play for the final tally of the game.
 
Freshman Fernando Pesantez (Belleville, N.J.) recorded six saves in 90 minutes.
 
The Cougars wrap up the regular season as they travel to Georgian Court University in a CACC contest on Wednesday, March 31 at 3:30 pm.
