Men’s Soccer Comes Up Short to #2 Concordia in CACC Quarterfinals

BRONXVILLE, N.Y.- The Caldwell University men's soccer team came up short to #2 seed Concordia College 5-2 in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Championship Quarterfinals.
 
The Cougars end their season at 1-6-0 overall, while the Clippers improve to 5-1-0 and advance to the CACC Semifinals.
 
Concordia struck first as they netted the first goal of the game in the 16th minute to jump out in front 1-0.
 
Caldwell answered eight minutes later as sophomore and CACC All-Conference standout Andre Vieira (Union, N.J.) scored the tying goal with a tally in the 24th minute. The Cougars took a 2-1 lead just over a minute later as freshman Israel Dos Santos Neto (Salvador Bahia, Brazil) gave the Cougars the lead off a Vieira assist in the 25th minute.
 
The Clippers pulled even with a goal in the 29th minute of play as the score remained tied at halftime.
 
The score stayed tied deep into the second half until Concordia broke the tie in the 73rd minute. The Clippers added a pair of insurance goals over the final 12 minutes for the final mark.
 
Freshman Jalen Folsom (Beachwood, N.J.) posted six saves in 90 minutes.
