CALDWELL, N.J.- Caldwell University men's soccer freshman
Israel Dos Santos Neto (Salvador Bahia, Brazil) netted the game-winning goal in double-overtime to lift the Cougars to a 3-2 win over Felician University in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference contest.
The Cougars earn their first win of the season as they improve to 1-2-0 and 1-2-0 in the CACC, while the Golden Falcons drop to 0-1-0 and 0-1-0 in conference play.
Caldwell got on the board early as sophomore
Andre Vieira (Union, N.J.) scored on a penalty kick in the fourth minute.
Felician pulled even in the 17th minute but the Cougars answered two minutes later. Senior
Thomas Santana (Carmo do Rio Claro, Brazil) put Caldwell back in the lead off an assist from Neto.
The Golden Falcons scored the equalizer in the 84th minute of play to force overtime.
After a scoreless first overtime, Neto found the back of the net off an assist from freshman
Matthew Escobar (Kearny, N.J.) to lift the Cougars to their first win of the season.
Freshman
Jalen Folsom (Beachwood, N.J.) recorded six saves in the win.
The Cougars travel to Nyack College for a CACC contest on Saturday, March 20 at 5 pm.
