CALDWELL, N.J.- Caldwell University women's basketball junior
Shadajah Thomas (Plainfield, N.J.) posted a double-double in the Cougars 59-40 loss to Bloomfield College in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference contest.
The Cougars fall to 3-6 overall and 3-6 in the CACC, while the Bears improve to 6-4 overall and 6-4 in conference play.
Bloomfield jumped out to a 14-2 lead late in the opening quarter. The Cougars rallied back as Thomas drained a three-pointer in the second quarter as part of the rally. Thomas added four free throws in the final three minutes in the second quarter to close the gap to 28-22 at halftime.
The Bears pushed their lead into double digits in the third quarter and held the lead the rest of the way.
Thomas recorded a double-double as she finished with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Sophomore
Jessica Wagoner (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa) added 10 points, eight boards, two steals and one block.
The Cougars have secured the #5 seed in the CACC Championship Quarterfinals that begins on Tuesday, March 2 and will travel to #4 seed Concordia College for the first round contest. The game will be streamed on the CACC Network at caccnetwork.com.
