CALDWELL, N.J.- Caldwell University women's volleyball junior
Elise Smith (O'Fallon, Ill/O'Fallon) netted 10 kills as the fell to Holy Family University 3-0 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference contest.
The Cougars fall to 0-2 overall and 0-2 in the CACC, while the Tigers improve to 1-0 overall and 1-0 in conference play.
Holy Family took the opening set 25-22 and won the second set 25-12. The Cougars trailed 20-12 in the third set but close the gap to 24-23 before falling 25-23.
Smith led the Cougars with 10 kills and nine digs, while sophomore
Victoria Marquez (Humble, Texas/Kingwood Park) added nine kills.
Senior
Marina Schlaepfer (Aurora, Colo./Grandview) finished with six kills and two aces.
Freshman
Reese Sherwood (Salem, Ore./Sprague) totaled 28 assists and seven digs, while junior
Humiko Stormer (Luckey, Ohio/St. Ursula Academy) tallied 13 digs.
