WATERBURY, Conn.- Caldwell University women's volleyball sophomore
Amanda Schiltz (Durham, N.C.) and junior
Mary Grace Hartmann (Cutchogue, N.Y.) combined for eight total blocks as the Cougars came up short to Post University 3-1 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match.
The Cougars fall to 2-23 overall and 2-14 in the CACC, while the Eagles improve to 9-19 and 6-10 in conference play.
Post edged the Cougars in the first two sets 25-22 and 25-22. Caldwell battled back to win the third set 25-23 before the Eagles took the match with a 25-12 win in the fourth set.
Sophomore
Reese Sherwood (Salem, Ore.) led the Cougars with 15 kills, 11 assists, two aces, two block assists and nine digs. Hartmann (one solo block and five block assists) and Schiltz (three block assists) combined for eight total blocks in the match. Schiltz added 10 kills and five digs, while Hartmann finished with four kills, one aces and three digs.
Senior
Olivia Bellamy (Davison, Mich.) tallied four kills and three total blocks (one solo), while senior
Samantha Ashton (Colonia, N.J.) posted 17 assists and nine digs. Senior
Humiko Stormer (Luckey, Ohio) recorded 21 digs and six assists.
The Cougars conclude their season on Wednesday, November 10 as they host Felician University for a CACC match at 5 pm at the George R. Newman Center.
