Sherwood, Schiltz Post 11 Kills in Women’s Volleyball Loss to Post

CALDWELL, N.J.- Caldwell University women's volleyball sophomores Amanda Schiltz (Durham, N.C.) and Reese Sherwood (Salem, Ore.) each tallied 11 kills each as the Cougars fell to Post University 3-1 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match.
 
The Cougars fall to 2-11 overall and 2-4 in the CACC, while the Eagles improve to 7-11 and 4-2 in conference play.  
 
The Eagles won a close first set 25-23 and took the second set 25-7. The teams played a back and forth third set before the Cougars pulled away late to win 25-18. Post took an early lead in the fourth set but the Cougars battled back to take a 20-19 lead. The Eagles pushed ahead to win 25-20 and take the match.
 
Sherwood posted a double-double with 11 kills and 20 assists along with two aces, one block assist and six digs. Schiltz added 11 kills and one block assist.
 
Senior Olivia Bellamy (Davison, Mich.) posted a .375 hitting percentage as she totaled seven kills, three total blocks (two solo) and three digs. Junior Mary Grace Hartmann (Cutchogue, N.Y.) recorded four kills and two blocks (one solo).
 
Senior Humiko Stormer (Luckey, Ohio) led the Cougars with 21 digs and three aces, while graduate Shayna Saltzman (Pine Beach, N.J.) finished with three kills and 17 digs. Senior Samantha Ashton (Colonia, N.J.) posted 13 digs and nine assists in the win.
 
The Cougars travel to Goldey-Beacom College for a CACC contest on Saturday, October 9 at noon.
