Seniors Power Women’s Soccer to Come From Behind Victory Over Nyack

CALDWELL, N.J.- Caldwell University women's soccer continued their push for a postseason berth as seniors Teaghan Darling (Forked River, N.J.) and Hannah Marino (Pennington, N.J.) each scored goals to rally the Cougars past Nyack College for a 2-1 victory in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference contest.

The Cougars improve to 7-8-0 and 5-5-0 in the CACC while Warriors drop to 6-8-0 and 3-6-0 in conference play.

Nyack struck first as they took the early lead with a goal in the sixth minute of play. The Warriors maintained their lead through the half despite the Cougars 4-3 shot advantage over the first 45 minutes of play.

Caldwell broke through in the 69th minute as Darling netted the equalizer to pull the Cougars even at 1-1.

The Cougars took the lead for good as Marino broke away for a loose ball and scored the eventual game-winner. Caldwell's defense held the Warriors off the board as the Cougars outshot Nyack in the second half 11-1 and held a 15-4 shot advantage for the game.

Senior keeper Jamie-Lee Bamford (Braintree, United Kingdom) turned in a solid performance as she turned back two Nyack shots in the win.

The Cougars host Wilmington University for their final conference match of the season on Sunday, October 31 at the Kiwanis Oval.
