WILMINGTON, Del.- The Caldwell University women's volleyball team fell in a tri-match as the Cougars fell to Wilmington University 3-0 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match and came up short to Millersville University 3-2 in a non-conference match.

The Cougars fall to 2-17 overall and 2-8 in the CACC, while the Wildcats improve to 14-10 and 9-2 in conference play. The Marauders improve to 8-16 overall.

In their opening match against Wilmington, the teams battled through a close first set before the Wildcats won 25-21. Wilmington took the next two sets 25-13 and 25-16 to take the match.

Sophomore
Reese Sherwood (Salem, Ore.) led the way with eight kills, seven assists and 12 digs while sophomore
Amanda Schiltz (Durham, N.C.) posted six kills and four total blocks (two solo). Â

Junior
Mary Grace Hartmann (Cutchogue, N.Y.) added three kills, while senior
Samantha Ashton (Colonia, N.J.) totaled 12 assists and five digs.

Senior
Humiko Stormer (Luckey, Ohio) recorded 16 digs, while freshman
Karin Ojeda (Toms River, N.J.) finished with six digs and two aces.

The Cougars closed out the day as they fell short 3-2 against Millersville. The Marauders took the opening set 25-22 but the Cougars battled back to take the next two sets 25-12 and 25-16. Millersville evened the match with a 25-13 set four win and took the fifth set 15-7 to win the match.

Sherwood tallied 17 kills, 16 assists, 13 digs and three aces, while Schiltz posted eight kills and three total blocks (one solo). Graduate
Shayna Saltzman (Pine Beach, N.J.) pitched in seven kills and 10 digs, while Hartmann finished with five kills, four digs and two total blocks (one solo).

Ashton netted 17 assists, seven aces, eight digs and two kills, while Stormer recorded 35 digs and five assists. Â
